Botswana is your ultimate wildlife viewing destination in Southern Africa . I had the opportunity to experience the Okavango Delta , Chobe National Park and Moremi in May this year . From Maun Airport we flew via light aircraft to Le Roo Le Tau .We had a fantastic time at Leroo La Tau. We did game drives and boat excursions and they were both informative and fun.The accommodation is superb and breathtaking views of the Boteti River from your balcony . The game drives on the Boteti river were magic . From Le Roo La Tau we flew via light aircraft to Camp Okavango …incredible sight flying over the Delta . There is just something about the Okavango Delta that one cant explain ….imagine being on a island in the middle of nowhere surrounded by endless plains of water and beautfiful scenery .We were transported via speed boat to our next next Lodge situated in the middle of the Okovango Delta . The location is beautiful and the wildlife was diverse and plentiful. The highlight our Mokoro trip and bush walk on one of the island close by . We saw so much wildlife on foot and even heard lions roar in the distance . Coming so close to Elephants on foot was an incredible experience !
Our next stop was Camp Moremi situated in the Moremi Game Reserve . A wonderful camp hosting just 26 People. Our tent was spacious, meals delicious and everyone gave his or her best to make us feel welcome and pampered. I thoroughly enjoyed my luxury tent, with en suite shower area and flushing toilet. The bedroom contained a full king size with feather duvets. Luxruy indeed. The wildlife viewing was exceptional and the river side drives were magical . Animals roam through the camp at night, so you are escorted to and from your tent between dusk and dawn for safety reasons .Moremi is very special !
Our next stop was Chobe Game Lodge . The only luxurious Lodge inside of Chobe National Park . The rooms all look out on to the majestic Chobe River and this River never dissapoints . Chobe is famous for its Elephants so if you love Elephants and would pretty much like to see an Elephant everday on game drives then Chobe is a must . We saw so many Elephants coming down to the river and spending hours next to the river bed ..some swimming and others having a sand bath or just having an afternoon drink. You just want to watch them for hours .On our afternoon boat game drive we went right up to a herd of Elephants swimming in the river ….magical !
The staff at all of the mentioned Lodges cannot do enough for you and they do it with absolute cheerfulness. Desert and Delta provides an authentic safari experience. Game drives are true hunts and the trackers are excellent as well as entertaining. The tents/lodges are comfortable and are air conditioned by nature. The food is divine and each dinner was accompanied by African music and dance.
Should you start or end your Botswana safari in Chobe/Kasane then it is advisable to spend 2 or 3 nights in Vic Falls . Vic Falls has so much to offer and there is a wide variety of accommodation to choose from . We spent 2 nights at the incredible Elephant Camp and 1 night at Vic Falls River Lodge . Both luxurious Vic Falls properties . There are flights departing to and from OR Tambo International airport to Vic Falls on a daily basis so if you would like to start or end your safari in Vic Falls then we will gladly arrange it for you . Vic Falls and Botswana makes a wonderful combination !
