Mozambique

General Information

Mozambique borders on South Africa and Swaziland to the south, Zimbabwe to the west and Zambia and Malawi in the northwest.

Both Malawi and Mozambique share the large beauty of water known as Lake Malawi (in Malawi) or Lake Nyasa (in Mozambique). Tanzania is Mozambique's northernmost neighbour.

Situated on the east coast of Africa the warm Indian Ocean's Mozambique Channel flanks a splendid coastline which is over 2 500kms long - from Ponto do Quro in the south to the cluster island of the Quirimbas Archipelago in the north.

The pearl of the Indian Ocean, Mozambique boasts 2 500 km (1 550 miles) of pristine beachfront on the mainland, with a string of beautiful and idyllic tropical islands, glittering like jewels in the warm, azure waters of the Indian Ocean.

Soft, white sand beaches lined with coconut palms stretch as far as the eye can see. Mozambique has remained an exclusive destination, as many of its islands and mainland beaches are isolated and secluded, offering travellers the ultimate escape.
